Water and Sanitation for the Urban Poor in London, UK
Research Intern
Closing date: 14 Dec 2015
WSUP is a non-profit partnership between the private sector, NGOs and research institutions focused on solving the global problem of inadequate water and sanitation in low-income urban communities. WSUP brings lasting solutions to low-income areas by working in partnership with service providers: including water utilities, local authorities, businesses and the communities they serve. WSUP strengthens the capacity of service providers to deliver sustainable city-wide water and sanitation services, promote good hygiene and raise the environmental standards of low-income communities.
The Research Intern will join the Evaluation, Learning and Research team based in London and will support the production of publication and dissemination materials relating primarily to WSUP’s DFID-funded research programme and also coordinate the Public Finance for Wash initiative.
You will need to have a Masters in a relevant discipline, be quick to learn and have excellent analytical, Powerpoint and English-writing skills together with a high level of numeracy. Experience of coordinating multiple tasks and people in a fast-moving project effectively is essential.
We believe this internship offers a great opportunity for people who want to build a career in water and sanitation and/or a development-related research field and/or development finance. WSUP takes internships very seriously: we recognise that interns work for a minimum wage in order to gain useful experience, and we therefore pay very serious attention to ensuring that the internship experience is satisfying, coherent and interesting. We believe theWSUP office is a great place to be an intern.
